The Company

Damselfly Development is a small company offering web development services to freelancers, design agencies and local & international businesses.  We are based near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.

We love front-end web development – turning ideas and designs into fully functioning sites built using valid and semantic HTML & CSS built using php and the wordpress content management system.

We love building highly usable sites that are intuitive and enjoyable for people to use.

Finally we love working with people, be it face to face or remotely – helping them to further their goals by delivering a new or improved site or making it easier to manage their online presence.  It gives us a real buzz when we can help make someone’s life better or easier.

About John

I am John, the lead developer at Damselfly Development.  I have been involved in the internet industry for over 12 years in various web development and management roles including at learndirect, an early e-learning pioneer and Edinburgh Business School, who run the second largest online MBA programme in the world.

Outside of web development (which is also a hobby!), I enjoy playing the ukulele, photography, cycling and spending time with my wife and daughter

About Viv

Hello!  I’m Viv and I do the business and finance bits.  I have 7 years business and project management experience in the IT industry specialising in front end usability and overall project delivery.   I’ve managed the delivery of over 50 web front ends from one page sub-sites to large multi-million pound operations.  I’m a non-techie so have a different contribution to make than John, concentrating on project delivery and the user experience.

I also enjoy time with my family, as well as pursuing my interest in plants and cycling (not at the same time!)
